We begin using the finest middle-belt Virginias, including some rare leaf from the 2010 crop. We press the blended tobacco for up to six weeks to enhance the deep flavor. This changes the color to a dark brown. We cut it into a slightly thicker than traditional flake format. This thick cut preserves the flavor. Blend 150 is medium in strength with a rich, subtly sweet flavor of dates and vintage port. A Samuel Gawith/The Danish Pipe Shop pipe tobacco called Brown Sugar Flake. Due to new EU laws the name was changed in 2017 from Brown Sugar Flake to B. S. Flake. The main goal was to relive the famous Orlik Brown Sliced, but in a more full style (not strong but more body). Its matured high quality Virginia that is hot pressed with some natural cavendish. So you get a pure flavour with a hint of natural sweetness from the cavendish. To spice it up it has a pinch of burley and Oriental. Notes: Was launched as Brown Sugar Flake but in 2017 the name had to change due to new EU laws where a word like sugar may not be used on a tobacco related product. The new name is B. S. Flake.

When Gallaher took over the Sobranie mixtures from the Redman family the original blenders finding the composition too complex and costly, they simplified it. After Gallaher stopped making the simplified Bengal Slices, Mssrs James B Russell, Inc., arranged for a composition similar to the Gallaher revision to be made exclusively for them by A & C Petersen, Horsens, Denmark. A & C Petersen has recently been sold to Orlik A/S, of Assens, Denmark, which promptly discontinued the manufacture of Bengal Slices. A replacement, under the James B Russell aegis, has been released, approximating the A&C Petersen blend.

Our most unusual English-type tobacco flavored with rich, cured Virginia, blended with fine Dubeck Turkish. You will find it mild and smooth. Notes: In a time when every tobacco is described as unusual, we at Perettis strive to not state the obvious. D-9507 was originally a blend that was developed for one of our customers. He wanted a tobacco that had body, some spice and an underlying sweetness. Master blender, Robert Peretti, devised a blend of natural fire-cured Cavendish, Perique, and a hint of the finest Dubeck Turkish. Unusual, yes, but deep-flavored, satisfying and luscious. Kind of an oddball, but truly delicious. We have yet to find a similar mixture. We utilize a base of fire-cured Cavendish and blend a small amount of Perique and Dubeck Turkish. D-9507 is a smooth smoking mixture with subtle sweetness and a good measure of fine piquancy.

They always took care to have a pocket-sized block of sweet Virginia tobacco with them, which they would take a slice off to then rub out and smoke in their Cutty pipes. In heavy weather, they would opt to just bite off a corner to enjoy as a stimulating piece of chewing tobacco. Selected sweet Virginias with a small pinch of Perique, classically enhanced with Caribbean rum, are matured over a long time in the press. WhiteKnight is a medium-bodied, very complex and well balanced Balkan-Style blend created to evoke memories of one of the most iconic pipe tobaccos ever made. Notes: When we won the 2011 Balkan Sobranie 759 Throwdown at the Chicagoland Pipe and Tobacciana Show, with our entry, BlackHouse, it caused quite a stir, and the blend has become one of our best sellers. We followed that up with Fusiliers Ration, which was modeled after Bengal Slices, and it too has become incredibly popular. There was one other blend that I loved, that I thought about making a tribute to, because I enjoyed it so much. But I resisted, due to the iconic stature of the tobacco.
